Brynderwyn Hills make a tricky set for beam manoeuvre

The challenge

Construction of the AMETI Eastern Busway began in 2019 and will significantly improve transport choices, reliability, and journey times in south-east Auckland and other parts of the region. AMETI needed to let commuters, residents and businesses know about the work being done, the benefits of the work and traffic changes during construction.

The solution

bigfish has helped by documenting construction and creating informational videos and animation about different stages of the project. Along with animation and short informational videos, we shot the transportation of a 100 tonne steel beam from Whangārei to Auckland. Two long, chilly nights on location allowed us to capture the beam as it was transported up and over the windy Brynderwyn Hills. Not an easy feat!
