Tristan Tuckey

Tristan blends creativity and big thinking to create positive change. With an undeniable community, environmental and artistic bent, TT has been involved in a myriad of both creative and conservation projects. As co-founder (now sole owner) and creative director of bigfish, Tristan has been immersed in the creative industry for over 20 years and has a unique ability to effortlessly convert a strategic vision into a creative solution.

Barac Underwood

Barac is a brilliant Videographer and Art Director, with a natural finesse for all elements of video production and editing. He leads the bigfish video team and continually strives to deliver outstanding content. When it comes to video, Auckland Airport, Auckland Transport, WDC, Coresteel and Channel Infrastructure and many others rely on Barac’s creativity and talent. Barac is delightfully honest, has an incredible eye for detail and loves telling authentic stories through video.

Narrelle Tuckey

Narrelle keeps the ‘creatives’ in the bigfish studio in line and makes a great cup of coffee. Her great organisational skills ensure smooth workflow through the studio and exceptional standards are delivered to every bigfish client. Narrelle also manages the marketing and sales of our tourism projects including the Northland Visitor Map and Whangārei Visitor Guide, working closely with industry operators across the region. Narrelle is a true Northlander who loves getting together with friends and family, especially when there’s good food and wine involved.

Mandy Bryers

Leading the design team at bigfish, Mandy is an experienced Art Director having worked with many leading brands including Fieldays, Bayer, Auckland and Waikato Universities and popular FMCG brands Jim Beam, Nestlé and Sanitarium. With a wealth of agency experience in all facets of branding and design, Mandy delivers creative solutions every time.

Tara Grant

Tara is an experienced Digital Marketer, Project Manager and now General Manager at bigfish. Her experience in the challenging, fast paced and always changing telco world in NZ and Australia has given her an in depth understanding of marketing and digital strategy and a talent for knowing how corporate clients tick. She loves getting stuck into projects with plenty of twists and turns that achieve epic results. Tara quickly distills an idea and turns it into tangible strategy.

Daniel Beazley

Daniel is a welcome addition to the Big Fish tank, offering invaluable support for the web team and innovative solutions for a range of technical challenges. Daniel takes to technology like a duck to water. His considerable experience in the IT field belies his age and allows him to provide robust and clever solutions for our clients. Whether it’s blazing back end code for a website, whipping up a web application or rebuilding our server, it’s all done with ease and a cheeky grin.

Rachel Pascoe

Rachel started out marketing IT and Telco products in the UK and Australia before moving to Northland and shifting into the public sector; leading Whangarei District Council’s communications team. Here she perfected the art of simplifying complicated messages, reaching out to stakeholders and tackling community engagement. A yearning to be ‘on the other side’ and work in an agency, saw Rachel bring her local and central government experience and communications skills to the bigfish team.

Briana Taylor

Briana joined bigfish straight out of Auckland University of Technology and quickly became a tank go to for great design. In her last year at uni she was a finalist in the NZ Best Awards. Briana’s passion is seeing how positive community projects come together, particularly when we co-lab with others like Poutama Heteraka from the Hihiaua Cultural Centre, where we work together to take his unique designs and incorporate them with our work. Now a Senior Designer, Briana has developed her skills across all facets of design including brand work, animations, web, digital and video brand assets.

Briar van Ameringen

Briar is a creative designer who is passionate about transforming and creating brands, products and digital experiences. With a Bachelor of Design from Massey University, and 16+ years of experience within the design industry, Briar has developed both her creative and technical skills across everything from print and packaging to web, digital and UX design. Briar has also brought many brands to life through her stunning illustrations.

Out of the office she’s most likely to be spending time with family and friends, walking the dog, fuelling up on coffee, out in the garden, dreaming up some kind of new interior space or enjoying the beautiful beaches that surround us.

Katie Leeuwenburg

Born and bred in Northland, Katie is enjoying being back home after living in Australia and the UK. Before bigfish she was marketing luxury care homes at Barchester Healthcare in London. Katie has also worked on large-scale customer experience projects, digital campaigns and events for brands including Aveo, The Coffee Club and Flight Centre. Like many of us, she makes the most of our beautiful beaches – heading out for a surf and making the most of the Northland lifestyle. She’s also a qualified reformer pilates instructor.

Fleur Massey

Having spent 12 years overseas in the UK and Sydney, working with clients including Mastercard, Lion Breweries and Telstra, Fleur is now back home and putting her event and project management skills to work at bigfish. Her background in Sports Marketing and Sponsorship lets her juggle complex multi-layered projects without raising a sweat!

Ron Davidson

Ron has worked across a large number of iconic brands. Ron created the V brand along with its initial international launch campaign and then there’s his brand work for Cadbury, General Motors, Sky City launch, Dominion Breweries, Air NZ, Maori Language Year, Carlton & United Breweries and many more. Ron brings a wealth of experience to create, nurture and reinvigorate many of New Zealand’s most successful and enduring brands.

Trevor Ferreira

Big Trev, is our web administrator and has become the go to person for all web-admin and techie support in the tank. Before joining the bigfish team Trev was a digital marketing specialist for iSat in South Africa and then moved to Northland – why wouldn’t you! Trev loves tech and keeps us all updated on the latest innovations.

Dane Dawson

Dane has been involved in the film, television and media industry for over 15 years; working on numerous local and international film, television and theatre productions. Transferring from acclaimed film production company FINCH; Dane has put his hand to everything from production runner to production manager across an assortment of commercial film productions and continues to develop this passion with the bigfish whanau.

Janet Webb

Managing our robust financial system, Janet keeps the wheels of commerce turning at bigfish. Having come from over a decade of employment in financial and accounting practices, then a five year stint in a finance role for an insurance company, working in the bigfish tank is light relief. Outside the tank she’s often tripping around the country to see her grown up kids or like all true Northlanders she’s making the most of the outdoors walking or at the beach.

Trent Morgan

Trent was lured into the bigfish tank for his skills as a front end developer. Combined with his eye for detail and focus on the requirements and experience of the end user, Trent knows how to take a good website and make it exceptional. Outside of work, Trent also works on both public and private art projects.

Tori Kerr

Tori is studying at Massey University and works part-time in the bigfish tank. She helps out with a range of different jobs including digital marketing, video production and project management. Tori started her career as a qualified chef but is now in the last year of her Bachelor of Science which has given her a keen interest in consumer behaviour, social psychology, statistics and data analysis all of which are put to good use at bigfish.

Candice Hindriksen

Candice has been designing and building websites for over 10 years, working for Auckland agencies 96black and Curative. As well as being a great web designer, she’s a co-founder of start-up business ROLL. Candice has been working with bigfish since 2016 building websites and problem solving with custom code. She also moonlights as an aerial performer and teaches aerial skills – truly multi-talented.

Helen Horrocks

Helen is a master of SEO, Google AdWords, social media and content marketing – skills that make her a welcome addition to the bigfish team. A genius copywriter Helen is originally from Scotland, but she’s firmly adopted Northland, and the Northland lifestyle as her own. A fanatical fisherwoman, sailor and diver, she spends as much time as she can in, on or around the water.

Murray Brock

Murray has a knack for compelling storytelling and delivering memorable experiences through a combination of powerful still and video imagery. Born and bred in Northland, his creative work has sent him across the country, shooting content for the likes of Spark NZ, KiwiRail, Ray White, 66 Magazine, and much more. For Murray, there is something incredibly special about capturing a fleeting moment in time which would otherwise be dismissed or forgotten, and elevating it to a level that makes people sit back and take notice.

Hannah Cassidy

From a young’n documenting life on film to shooting weddings overseas which brought some years of epic travels – Hannah’s camera is just an extension of her arm. Being a freelance photographer has exposed her to an array of subjects across the years, however moving from Auckland in 2021 and landing in the bigfish tank has focussed her interest in working with a community and showing off their businesses – she claims to be Whangarei’s biggest fan. She has the knack of interacting warmly with anyone and putting them at ease, even in front of her lens.
