The challenge
Bigfish was engaged to create a tourism campaign to motivate the local community, whanau and visitors to take time out in Northland to reconnect with post-COVID lockdown life.
The campaign needed to to encourage regional dispersal to the four sub-regions –
Whangarei/South, West Coast, Far North and Bay of Islands/East Coast. Inviting people to come and visit Northland and see it a little differently to other regions.
The solution
We created ‘#NorthlandStyle’ a campaign brand that reflects the people and place, and the experience you will have when you visit Northland.
Northland Style is all about the way we do things up here in Northland. It’s a bit different, a bit quirky. But at its essence, it’s authentic and genuine, just like the people you’ll meet, the places you’ll go, and the experience you will have here.
The #NorthlandStyle campaign was digitally led using professionally generated content mixed with content created by customers and operators. The campaign included a series of training videos and live webinars created especially to upskill Northland tourism operators to reach out to new local audiences.
